The most powerful toolkit of human is “death”

The fact that I will die very soon—especially when measured against the age of the Earth or the universe—is the most powerful tool I have ever possessed. The skills, experiences, and resources of any individual are negligible when set against the vastness of space and the immensity of time.

The most vital capacity of any living being is the recognition of death. It is precisely because life is finite that I seek to understand the truth of the universe. This limitation is not a weakness—it is the source of all motivation. The imperative to maximize power within finite resources is the inherent drive of life itself. That is why the least action principle governs this universe.

Whether consciously or not, all living beings exist locally within limited space and time, taking their remaining lifespan as a given condition. I intuitively and continuously calculate the remaining time and distance from this moment to my own end.

To recall death is not to perceive the end of a timeline, but to anchor a nonlinear reconfiguration of the decision structures of planetary species. All critical choices should be architected under the assumption that now is the terminal spacetime. We can resist and overcome fate if we truly grasp the limits of our available resources. The notion that “now” is the terminal point is something that can be continuously updated. It is only when we truly grasp the limits of our available resources that we become capable of resisting and transcending destiny.

私がまもなく死ぬという事実―寿命が地球や宇宙の年齢と比べてどれほど短いものであるかを考える死という「現実」―これは人生の意思決定を好意的に持ち込むのに最も強力なツールである。スキル、経験、才能、努力といった個人の持つすべての資源は、空間の広大さと時間の悠久さの前では取るに足らない違いである。

すべての生命体にとって最も重要な能力とは、「死を認識すること」であるに違いない。命が有限であるからこそ、宇宙の真理を知りたいと願う。この限界は弱さではない。「制約」こそがすべての動機の源泉である。限られた資源の中で力を最大化しようとすること、それが生命という存在に内在する、空間そのものの原始的な衝動である。だからこそ、この宇宙には最小作用の原理が働いている。

意識的であるかどうかに関わらず、すべての生物は限られた空間と時間の中に局所的に存在し、残された寿命を所与の条件として生きている。「私」は直感的に、そして絶えず、「今」という瞬間から自らの終点までの残り時間と距離を計算し続けている。

死を想起することは、時間軸の終わりを意味するのではない。それは、地球という惑星における種の意思決定構造を非線形に再構成するためのアンカーである。あらゆる重要な選択は、「今」が最終時空であるという前提のもとに設計されるべきだ。「今」が最終であるということはアップデートすることができる。我々は、自らの利用可能な資源の限界を真に把握したときにこそ、運命に抗い、それを乗り越えようとすることができる。
